A Coronavirus update-March12, 2020: “Starting tonight at midnight, ALL public or private gatherings over 250 people will be prohibited in San Diego County. We are also strongly advising groups under 250 people to postpone or cancel their events. This order is issued based on increasing transmission of COVID-19 in California and San Diego County.” ~ @supervisorjimdesmond @countyofsandiego
As residents of the town of Fallbrook, within San Diego County, we are being told that being part of large gatherings is high on the list of things to avoid as this global health crisis is now beginning to affect all of our lives.
Unfortunately, communing in large groups is a huge part of what we do as a skatepark planning organization and the upcoming event we’ve been busy planning for months is now in jeopardy… We have and will always keep the safety and well-being of our supporters and this community as top priority.
So it is with deep regret that we are forced to make this most unfortunate of announcements… The Avocado Skate Classic event on 4/4/20 will need to be postponed and rescheduled for a later date.
We want to explain to everyone that we are postponing based on the guidance and recommendations of the County Supervisors in accordance with their ban of large gatherings/assemblies in San Diego County until further notice. We do wish for the rest of the country to avoid the harsh negative effects of this and retain their sense of community and take care of one another. We look forward to rescheduling the event and the ability to gather together again and skateboard as energized as ever. – FSI (@fallbrookskateparkinc)
